When we receive praise, we should allow ourselves to focus on what we did well. DO NOT criticize or belittle your efforts. You must be doing something competently, listen to positive feedback…respect it. We must appreciate the value of praise not only to ourselves, but to those who expressed it. Likewise, do not be afraid to praise others, we all need expressions of approval, commendation and admiration. Praise is a precious gift when a friend, colleague or loved one gives you praise or pays you a compliment, look that person in the eye and say "Thank You." Say it with true feelings of gratitude. Remember, to like yourself well enough to recognize when you do something well, obtain validation from the inside as well as the outside and treat praise like a gift. You can then revel in the kudos, bask in the acclaim, and smile through the applause! Accept the praise happily when someone says "Well done!"
